It’s a typical “I want one” device and be among those who know great design when they see it. Whatever the arguments against it, the EyeTV DTT Deluxe is hard to resist. It’s so small, you would have a hard time noticing on time. The only risk is that you’ll lose it or worse still that it will be stolen. While you need to unplug the aerial if you want to avoid breaking it when on the road, you can easily leave the stick itself connected to a laptop computer’s USB port while on the road. The brand was introduced in 2002 by Elgato Systems and was sold to Geniatech in 2016. There’s nothing that suggests you’re using such a small device at all. EyeTV is a European brand of TV tuners that allow users to watch TV on various devices including computers and smartphones. I tried the new EyeTV DTT Deluxe and was expecting less than perfect results because of the small size of the stick and aerial combination, but I proved to be wrong. The box also has all the usual Elgato stuff such as a license for the excellent EyeTV, a remote control with batteries included, a larger antenna which I don’t find better than the more stunning telescopic antenna. The biggest difference is the EyeTV DTT Deluxe is in gorgeous looking matte rubberised plastic-the same as the new Turbo H.264 stick-has a solid feel and comes with a tiny but powerful telescopic aerial. The only thing you can ask yourself is how much smaller Elgato can keep making these things before they become too small to handle. The previous EyeTV DTT Deluxe Micro-Stick was about two-and-a-half times the size of the new one, which means the new one is barely bigger than the plastic grip you’ll find on the average USB connector. The quality of build has never let me down, and that was no different this time around. When Elgato releases a new EyeTV DTT stick or a satellite receiver device, I'm always paying attention.
